Ichitan Group PCL., Tetra Pak (Thailand) and Forest Stewardship Council™ stimulate container and packaging market by urging Thai consumers to show responsibility to forests and implementing new value under the concept “Love The Forest, Look For The Logo”.

Forests are vital for life, home to millions of species, they protect soil from erosion, produce oxygen, store Carbon dioxide and help control climate. Forests provide food, shelter and medicines. They also purify the air we breathe and water that we need to survive. However, every 1 second, one football field size of forest is being destroyed or 52 billion hectares being lost every year.

“As a victim of the severe flood in 2011 in Thailand, I was aware that such devastation happened because our indifferent attitude towards natural warnings. We have exhausted natural resources and transforming environment to urban areas. Consequently, it is unbearable for the planet which reacted against its degradation through many kinds of disaster. Therefore, we should take those experiences as a lesson to avoid making the same mistake to our world. It is time to take a serious action in order to protect the planet.

These ideas then inspire Ichitan’s sustainable policy in environmental responsibility. The policy is allied to in-process of manufacturing by selecting our UHT carton with FSC™ certified standard for packaging of Ichitan Group products including Ichitan Green Tea, Yenyen and Bireley’s. The cooperation with Tetra Pak (Thailand), we also aim to promote FSC™ label to Thai consumers and to urge them to look for the logo on product packaging. By creating the new value under the concept “Love The Forest...Look For The Logo”, the consumers can easily take part in showing responsibility towards forests”, said Mr. Tan Passakornnatee Chairman and CEO of Ichitan Group.
