Miss Chantawan Tonprasong, Director Technical, Ichitan Group Public Company Limited, received the certificate of Carbon Footprint for Organization (CFO) from Mr. Thaneadpon Thanaboonyawat, the Secretary to the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, at the award ceremony titling “100 Hearts, Cooperation on Global Warming Reduction of 2019”, organized by Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization). The event, featuring the theme ‘It’s perfect time to start action’, brought together leading organizations with a shared vision for a cooperative action on climate change.
For a second consecutive year, Ichitan Group has voluntarily participated carbon footprint assessment for organization with aim to lead the company to become low carbon and sustainable business. This ambition aligns with the company’s vision to be a leader in beverage business with both quality and innovation that grows along with the society, as well as commitment to environment friendly practice in its entire manufacturing process as adopted in "Ichitan Green Factory".
The assessment of greenhouse gas emission from business activities conducted in Ichitan Green Factory helped the company substantially identify the source of emission and seek the way to reduce the emission. Greenhouse effect is a major cause of global climate change, resulting in rapid increase in Earth's average and highest recorded temperature, as well as extreme weather disasters, heat waves and global warming. This is a global agenda for both Thailand and worldwide nations to take as a key priority and accelerate cooperative action to combat this environmental crisis.
